The Way That Is Right
This is the latest book I just finished reading out of CCMM's library. I found it very thought provoking and uplifting. The following is a short of summary of one of the topics in a chapter:
"First, it is important to understand that the New Covenant was not made directly with us. It was made between the Father and Son for us - two Partners who abide in perfet fulfillment of covenant conditions."
"The Old Covenant was only good if Israel was good. If the Jews violated just one of the commandments, it was as though they were guilty of all."
"We access the benefits of the New Covenant through faith in God's redemptive work. Our trust in His works - not ours. This is the glorious wonder of our faith: God covenanted with God on our behalf!"
"Our Christianity is not based on what we do, but upon who Jesus becomes to us."
He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Roman 8:32
"With Jesus, God "freely" gives us "all things."
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God,that we might know the things freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:12
God is Awesome and He has always desired a close relationship with us. He has held back nothing so we could have this relationship. Let us not hold our ownselfs back.
With much love to all my brothers and sisters in Christ
Michelle
