Hello Janie, Regarding your question towards death bed conversions, yes, death bed conversions are possible and happen. Lets first address your point regarding the verse in Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and…

That is encouraging! I was listening to a study today from a local pastor encouraging his flock to be bold and stand up for the Lord and the things of righteousness. I am in agreement that we should stand for the things of righteousness. Living the…

Reading scripture, and Smyrna go hand in hand I think. John's letter to the church in Smyrna shows that the Christians were very poor spiritually. However, they were rich (Rev. 2:9). As I remember my study's In Revelation, Smyrna means “myrrh,” the…

Jesus’ address to Pergamos would appear strong in that He describes Himself as “He that has the sharp sword with two edges.” It is a sword of judgment that will cut no matter which direction you swing it. What is the issue? Primarily, He is not happ…

Devotions from the book of Revelation

When we are being instructed by the Lord it is always good to remember that He has a much different perspective on our circumstances than we do. Such was the case with the church of Smyrna. His description of Himself was intended to bring comfort to them. “The first and the last, which was dead and is alive”. He wanted them to understand that the issues they were going to face are merely hurdles in the path on the road to eternity. Understanding our current circumstance from His perspective chan… Continue

Devotions from the book of Revelation

The church of Ephesus was commended by the Lord for the way they handled three different influences upon their fellowship. Those influences were; they didn't bear those which were evil, they tested those who said they were apostles, with the correct result, and they hated the deeds of the Nicolaitans. These influences attempted to make their way into the body, but were met with the correct opposition. In 2 John 1:8 he writes, "Look to yourselves that you, do not lose what you worked for, but may… Continue

Devotions from the book of Revelation

Last night we began chapter 2 of Revelation.

It is interesting to note the emphasis the Lord places upon the works of the church of Ephesus. Such effort was put into everything they did, to the degree, that they forgot who they were doing it for. Jesus' concern for them was that, " You have left your first love." There are so many things we are burdened by when we take a serious look at the condition of this world and how it ill affects individuals. We want to get busy and accomplish all we can… Continue

Ray,

Thank you for the humor and the compliments, but whatever you read was simply the Holy Spirit showing me His Word. Sometimes I wonder if what I'm saying is just intellectual knowledge and not from God Himself, but if I really look at it, where else could it come from? I love talking about God's Word and speaking about what it plainly says and I have had some great debates with some who say they are Christians, but their beliefs don't line up with the Bible. I look forward to our discussions in the FoF class and anytime you want to email or blog. God bless and strengthen you.

Hi Ray and Katia,

I'm so glad you found the site. I am quite excited about the potential for WAY180 and hope you are too.

Many exciting things are happening behind the scenes at Calvary Chapel Meadow Mesa and I'll be writing of them in the way180 blog.

The fellow who owns the building that I have been mentioning in church services will be with us in the 11:00 am service this Sunday and then a few of us are going to lunch with him. I'm not sure where all of this will lead but the Lord knows and that's good enough for me.

We may end up with a larger building for less money. That's what the bible calls "good stewardship". I so sincerely want to be a blessing to you and everyone else at CCMM.

Anyway, keep praying for God's will and let's continue to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our church and in this nation. Let's pray for another revival like the one that took place back in the late 60's and early 70's.

For a glimpse of what the "the Jesus movement" revival looked like, click on the tab at the top of your page that says photos and then look for the photo album, "Jesus Movement".

Love ya both,
Pastor Mike
