The Way That Is Right

Get Control OF Your Facebook Confusion

You could be missing out if you haven't checked out the new Facebook privacy controls. These new rules are quite unique for anyone that collects names to broadcast and serve the massive public, which is world-wide!

The feature is called Publisher Privacy Control. When you combine this feature with the ability to create lists in Facebook, you now have very cool tool to target your audience.

My goal for this article is to help you understand how you can use this new feature to your advantage and not haphazardly, with repetitive redundancy, become confused and lose any of your followers.

People have different groups of friends with interests beyond the scope of knowledge we use and up until now Facebook didn't really help you maintain control what you shared with these different groups. Have you noticed this problem?

For me, Jesus isn't the only passion I share in Facebook. Let's say you also have other priorities, businesses, or maybe a group of friends that you don't want to share certain updates with. In the past you could exclude people on a list, but you couldn't really target a specific list. This is why it was so difficult to do any kind of relationship building or sharing of info with people that represented other groups in Facebook.

There is a quick way to getting "unfriended!" This is called social media for a reason!!! You want to be social with people...not spam them. You don't want everyone to be clicking the hide button on you since they won't share your information.

Sharing a ton of your personal experiences in life and helpful information that will help them achieve a higher level in their personal development will unleash the bonds that halt the everyday journey of grace for most. Let them see how real you are and what a blessing God has made out of you!

Sometimes you may want to share specific information about your business with prospects who haven't joined yet and keep that information hidden from people in your other areas of life. You may also have specific training or skills building materials that only apply to a certain group of people. Who is looking and communicating with your information?

You've done a good job of networking and people that are interested in your area of expertise are starting to ask to be your friend on Facebook. They may have even suggested why they thought it would be of their value to connect with you from their friends list.

Follow this step by step instructions below if only for your own personal development and your own enlightenment. Trust me, their will be a day when you will be able to slip this kind of information along to a prospect and make a lifelong friend.

Step 1. Create your first list on Facebook called "Prospects". To do this click on the "more" link under you Newsfeed link, on the left side of the main Facebook page. A box will open down and reads like this at the bottom of that:
(Create New List)...click there

Step 2. Title your new list "Prospects" and add those that you wish to load for the purpose
and with shared interests. Choose specific people from the drop down list and then type in the name of your list and click Save Setting.

Step 3. Now that you have a list you can ad posts in Facebook that are sent to the specific list
you created. None of your other Facebook friends will be able to see the post! Are you starting to see the benefits?!?! Need more information?

If you are still wondering about any mistakes you might make don't worry. Anything you do can always be un-done. This is how you can test the sytem in action. Assuming you have already created your "Prospects" list, you simply click on that which is on the left side like before.

As you now can see, your list will show all the recent updates from your list. At the top, right of the content there is a button, (+ update status). Open the button and the "whats on your mind" box appears for you to post your information. You are now ready to type in your update. It will only be visible in the newsfeed of people on that specific list.

How I recommend you use this feature.
1. Start posting content on web sites that allow you to put your facebook link on your profile.
2. Create a list of prospects and another list of people in your organization.
3. Start posting information (not spam) of interest to those specific groups of people.
4. Be sure to put your facebook link in the profile of your Twitter name.

You will find that people appreciate getting good useful information and your non-prospects will appreciate NOT getting this information even more!
