How To Score A Jesus Touch Down every day!

I Dont know if many of you remember the old Amy Grant song

"Fathers Eyes' however if you do, it helps you relate to what GOD has revealed to me. As I am a father of 4, my kids are all grown up now, my Daughter 22 is getting married & my youngest son 17 will be graduating from High School next year. I have always been a coach for my 3 boys and as I coached their baseball teams, or soccer teams, & football teams, as my oldest son is 30, Dustin and Joshua 25 Ashlee 22 & Jordan 17. I sat here and looked at all the team photos, and I have literally coached 30 plus different teams, as I tried to do it evenly, I would coach one sons baseball team in the Spring, and then the next sons football team in the Fall. And we have some of the funniest stories, to the most exciting, theres not one regret and I treasure the photo's and memories, and life lessons taught & learned. Please pardon me for boring you with the info on my children, but this is where the revelation comes from,

I'm sure any of you who have gone through parenthood can relate with me how being a parent is an amazing experience, yet at the same time I know that any of you who have'nt gone through parenthood can still relate.

As I was pondering to myself when I witnessed an invocation & prayer given at a ceremony, I thought & wondered to myself...... why sometimes people end their prayer's without the name of JESUS so they will often just say the phrase, " AND EVERYONE SAID-----------"AMEN"

AS OPPOSED TO SAYING >>>" IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST WE PRAY AMEN"

And I found that it really bothered me to hear people pray then close the prayer by not saying IN JESUS NAME ???

I have noticed lately in our culture people will offer up prayer's that are so vague, and powerless, that it is as clear as the noon day sun, that they are either instructed, or told, or just flat out afraid of the NAME OF JESUS.

For in 1 John 1:23 we are instructed to test the spirits, and anyone who denies the Son JESUS does not have the Father, but he who acknowledges The Son has the Father also.>>>>>>>

So as I Prayed and sought the Lord about this, let me show you what God hath shown me!

In the neighborhood I now reside, there are several younger kids that had often come up to me as I would be working on my yard, or washing a car out front, and they would say, Hey are you Jordan Welte's dad ? or Hey are you Welte's dad? and I would say yes why? How do you know my son, and they would say oh I like your son,and I love to play Football with him over at the park, or there was a young man that told me that he asked my son to teach him how to play football. So yes as a father that would make me feel pretty proud of my son. As my son had been playing football since he was 7 yrs old, then as he was growing up with a passion for football, and becoming a little God gifted player.......I had come up with an idea, and as I would drive my son Jordan to school each day & drop him off for school, starting in the very early years I would always say a prayer with him each day before he got out of the car, then over time I eventually passed the prayer responsibility over to him, so that by the time he was in middle school he would say the entire prayer as we would join hands & outside the school in our car my son would lead us through a prayer each day.

However the one idea I came up with which I would tell him from early grade school up until the time he started driving on his own, I would tell him as a young boy right as our prayer was finished TO GO & SCORE A JESUS TOUCH DOWN TODAY" and i thank God for His leading me and impressing that vision on my heart, as I have so many stories & fond memories that i could write a book about the things my son would tell me that occurred over the years, as i would later in the evening of each day ask him what kind of jesus Touchdown did you score today??? However I need to explain for you what a JESUS TOUCHDOWN is.

>>>As I would tell my boy every day I want you to score a Jesus touchdown, and what that means, is that in the very same way son that you have a passion & desire to score in a football game, God sends all of us out into the world each day, and this world when we are at school or as a parent at work that is God's kind of Football Field in which we live in, and the way we score a Jesus T.D. is when you look each day for that someone in your school, that other kids tease, or the kid that nobody talks to because he may be handicapped, yet God want's us to Love them & to tell them that they are valuable, or it may be a girl thats overweight son, and just as you get so embarrassed over something as small as a bump on your own face, or a bad hair cut, I would explain to my boy, that there are those kids that get teased by others,because of the way they look, or dress, or their weight, or handicap, Son I would say can you just imagine as they stand there getting ready for school each day,and as they look in the mirror and find themselves.......dreading just dreading, what the kids are going to say as they tease him or her today...... so I would tell my son, that when you who are looked up to by the other kids, and they see you being nice, and just saying something nice to someone that others are mean to, or those who get teased and bullied, ... even if you say, hey dude I like your shoes those are cool, or if you say to that girl hi and find somehow or some way to compliment her, each time you touch someones heart with a kind word, or you see a kid at lunch with no money or food, then those are the great opportunities where you my son can score THAT JESUS TOUCHDOWN, as I would tell my Son that Jesus said, whenever you do something nice to the least of these, your doing that to Jesus, and also when you are being mean and tease those kids, you are also doing that to Jesus!!! And over time there were so many wonderful stories, yet the one story that ended with the best results, that I can share here today, was in my sons middleschool, where there was this disabled boy, "Billy" who everyone at the beginning of the year, would have nothing to do with him and during lunch he always sat alone, then Jordan told me the story how over a period of time, where he started befriending the handicapped boy, and inviting him to come sit with all the other friends at lunch and the whole overall picture went from people who were teasing this kid, to the point where the young man became the kid that everyone would start to love, in fact it became popular to love this young man, and it was such a great story I asked my son to take some pictures with his cell phone, and so at lunch my son took pictures of his friends with this young man named Billy and it was a beautiful thing to see how widely accepted and loved Billy was, I remember the teacher telling me during a open house, how he was impressed with the fact that my son had chosen to be the partner of the handicapped child, and as each kid was allowed to pick a partner in home room where they could connect their desk with another students desk, the teacher had said Jordan had chosen Billy, and that it was heartwarming to see that kind of kindness. I told Jordan that this story truly fulfilled the Jesus Touch Down tradition, in closing, that young man Billy's parents had written my son Jordan a thank you card and they included a small gift card and in their card was a couple of German Coins, because they said their son while on vacation to Germany, knew Jordan liked Germany, because our name WELT means World in German, and thats our heritage, so Billy told his parents to get these coins for Jordan. To this day my son puts one of those coins in his shoe in every football game he play's.

Now in ending this story and getting to the point, as I was pondering why we pray in Jesus name, I felt like I had God speak this message to my heart.

If I was to have some young man come to my front door and as I open it the young man proceeds to ask me if he can get $20 or $30 dollars from me, and I dont know him from anywhere, I would most likely say no.

However if that young man came to the door, and he said hey are you Jordan Weltes dad, & I say why yes who are you, and then the kid goes on to say, Oh Mr. Welte I come to you in YOUR SON'S NAME & I know your son, I used to play football at the park with him, and he taught me how to be tough, and as I look at this boy he goes on to tell me how he also was taught by Jordan how to score a Jesus Touchdown at school and not only that, but as you yourself now as a parent yourself, can put your own son or daughter into this story, and as you have a stranger that comes and makes a request from you, for a sum of money, I ask you to imagine that this young person that comes to make this request, and as you start to talk to this stranger, you notrice that they are such close friends of your own son or daughter, that they appear to look like, or act like your child, and its in that moment that you are so likely to fulfill his request. And even above and beyond the $20 or $30>> But even greater than that, it reveals to us, that the closer we get to Jesus, the more we walk like and talk like Jesus, and in that same light, that is directly why we pray in JESUS NAME, and HOW TO REALLY TOUCH THE HEART OF GOD, AS WE COME TO OUR GOD AND FATHER IN THE PRECIOUS NAME OF HIS SON JESUS, AND AS WE CARRY ABOUT IN OUR FLESH, THE CONTINUOUS ACT OF SELF DENIAL, AND THE EVER PRESENT DESIRE TO BE LIKE JESUS. That is why we pray in Jesus Name....

So in that revelation, I felt God telling me to share this, so that others might understand, why and how it is that in our life as Christians, we are to make it our ambition to be like CHRIST, and in doing so, it is only natural that we will start to exhibit the fruit and the reflection of His Son, so also as Jesus said that in the day of judgement many people will come and say I did this or I did that in your name, but I will say get away from me for I never Knew you, and I understand the Greek translation is better described Jesus said I never EXPERIENCED YOU

So I encourage all of you, that if you just find the song on YOUTUBE by Keith Green, Be More Like Jesus, and you are a person of worship, I encourage you to get in a quiet place, draw near to God, listen to that song, where the words speak,

" I want to, I need to, Be more like JESUS" and I assure you of a God'ly EXPERIENCE of JESUS, but we must strive and hunger and thirst for righteousness, day after day.

Always be encouraged, as JESUS PROMISED YOU "A SMOLDERING WICK HE WILL NOT SNUFF OUT, AND A BRUISED REED HE WILL NOT BREAK you must understand those words are spoken to you when you feel like you are nothing, and you are broken, GOD will not discard you, all he asks is that you continue, do not turn back, when you fall, do not stay down, you must stand back up and continue, and even if your only a smoldering wick GOD will soon fan in to FLAME a PASSION for HIS NAME!!!

Now unto HIM who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before HIS glorious presence without fault and with great joy, be all honor and power and glory forever and ever in JESUS NAME Amen......Always keep these words in your heart & bind them in your mind. JESUS ALSO SAID>>> AS THE FATHER HAS LOVED ME SO ALSO I LOVE YOU NOW REMAIN IN MY LOVE.......John 15:9
