The Way That Is Right

Jesus said, “I was in prison, and you visited me…in so much as you did so to the least of my brethren…”. Can we agree that the least of Jesus brethren may be in prison, because of their own fault? And, still, we should visit them.

There are prisons without walls. Bondage to a sin is very much a prison without walls. Practicing sin is not that bondage, because the person who practices sin agrees with that sin, and calls it good. Do you have a conscience about a sin which you commit that says, “This isn’t good!”? And do you say about its alternative, righteousness, “This is good!”? And are you consistently hampered by that sin?

You are in prison, and while you are responsible for your predicament, Jesus wants to visit you in this place. And so do I.

God has appointed a day, an hour, and the exact moment of your deliverance. He stretches out His mighty hand to deliver you. And He will do it with His word, and by the power of His Holy Spirit. Who Jesus makes free is free indeed + Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life = The truth shall set you free.

When you mourn for your sin, and have become fearful, you are being drawn by the Holy Spirit to confess your sin. This is a repentant heart. Give into it, because a broken and contrite heart is precious to the LORD, and He will draw close to you. He tells us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He does not say, “If you confess your sin, and promise not to do it again…”. Confession is made with a broken and contrite heart, not with any confidence in ones own self. Confession has its confidence in God. God says, “Through the fear of the LORD, man has cause to hope that there is salvation”, and “There is therefore, now no condemnation towards those who are in Christ Jesus”.

Please stay at the throne of grace after you confess your sins. Knowing He forgives you will give you confidence. Stay there and thank Him for working in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure, thank Him for never leaving you nor forsaking you, thank Him for continuing to complete that good work which was begun in you, thank Him for the grace and mercy you need for living day by day! And ask him for what you need to be made free - You need to be taught something more of His righteousness, you need more of the wisdom of faith and love, you need more of the truth in God’s word. The Holy Spirit will lead and guide you into all of this.

You are not empty of righteousness, but neither are you completely full. A person without Christ is already empty, but you have Christ, and He says, “Those who have, more will be given”. More of what? More of Him! All righteousness is in Jesus Christ, and He says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled” And we know that Gods work in us is to conform us to the image of Jesus Christ. And we know that it is Christ in us which gives us the hope of partaking of His glory. Again, you are not empty. Hence, you are being filled. That is why, after Paul the Apostle wrote, “Oh wretched man that I am”, he concluded, “But I give thanks to God for Jesus Christ”. Remember, a person who walks by faith, must walk in hope, because the thing hoped for is somewhere in the future. And the hope that God gives us is a confident expectation that God will do what He promises.

Thank God for delivering you, because it is coming, and He will do it!

Please don’t diminish the seriousness of sin. God hates sin. It grieves His holy Spirit, and God’s wrath is being reserved for all who practice sin. You should be concerned by the admonition that a little bit of leaven leavens the who lump. A person who argues that it is permissible to commit sin as long as you confess it later, will possibly find himself lacking a broken and contrite heart. God knows the difference between a repentant heart and a presumptuous heart that is full of hypocracy, but do you? So, work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Have confidence in God, and have no confidence in your flesh.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all of your ways and He will establish your steps”. And those steps will, without a doubt, lead you out of prison and more fully into the light of His righteousness, which is faith that works by love.

Nice words Mark. As I read through this blog I noticed how many times I have started in a direction the Lord was sending me and was not completing the tasks. If God is truly preparing the pathway of righteousness in our lives, it will always find the forked road of decision.

The good part of the decision is, the actions the willing heart brings about the supernatural or God-likened response. Whether it be wrong or right, the journey is adventurous.
