The Way That Is Right

I was taking my daughter home last night after a day of celebrating a baby shower for my next grandson and we headed south on I-15 commenting on the illumination of the full moon. As we were slowing down, turning on the Tropicana exit, I looked to the direction of the strip and found one of those kodak moments.

I know it's not the best of a picture but I was moving off the exit I quickly grabbed this shot. I just started using my phone, Palm Pre, as my always available camera and I don't know why it took me this long to upgrade to these new smart phones.

Actually the reason I even considered posting this pic is because it reminded me of the scriptures that ran through my mind. The reflection of the moon to the earth is quite nice but not really enough to see clearly through all the shadows. Why does it seem so exhilarating to participate with the darkness?

I pondered a moment about the efforts that have been invested in the things that bring pleasure to the flesh. Do you find it hard to sleep at night sometimes? What do you do when you know it's time to quick whatever...and your feelings take control of your reasonable understanding?

I could go on and on about these things with volume of unanswered questions which would be like a...so what blog, but I was focused on the simplicity of darkness and the light. It's those thoughts wandering around in the self-centered thinking that only land with empty and useless activity.

In Genesis 1:1,2, we read of the void in the earth and it is also called the darkness. And it was when He made the light, vs. 3 we do our best to bring understanding that we can grab on to as truth. The amazing thing I see is that the light by the finite mind would think about things like science to define the creation while in reality, He simply spoke light into existence.

Are you okay with that? Help me out here. I'd like to rap this up with the thought like this. We can see light when we open our eyes but we close our eyes when we go to prayer, why? I hope and I pray that by the mention of His Word, it would have the similar effect on our actions as the earth had in vs. 3.

Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.

Let God shine a light in your life today, that quick, that powerful, and that meaningfull.
