Water into Wine: Jesus' first miracle

I have been reading a book called "Step Out of the Boat" by Levi Land. Today I came across a section where he talks about Jesus' first miracle turning water into wine and I just had to share.

As you may recall the story of the wedding feast where they ran out of wine. Mary (Jesus' Mother) tells Jesus that they have no more wine (John 2:3). Jesus pointed to six big water pots. Then He told the servants to go fill them to the brim (John 2:7) "Six" - man's number. "Water Pots" That's us! He wants to use us. To be filled with what? Water. The water of God's Word, for His Word is spirit and is life. The question is, are we available? The servants filled them to the brim. There was no waving of His hands over them, no special speech. Just "Draw out now, and give to the host of the feast" (John 2:8). Many are taking in God's Word, but they are not "drawing out." Yet it is in the drawing out that the water becomes wine! That is when the miracle takes place. This is the manner in which Jesus does His miracles through us. It is the simple obedience of abiding in His Word, and drawing out.
