The Way That Is Right

I've had some ups and downs serving the Lord over the years and one thing I noticed consistent is that the opposition never goes away...sound familiar to you? Noticed how even some of your close
friends and even family will drop the words like "That won't work" or maybe worse as they correct you to get back on track because ________. Truly when you learn to follow Jesus and not mere men and women, their (opinion) can be the most distracting factor to building the call in your life.

Chuck Swindall says "There is a fine piece I've carried with me for years entitled The Builder." It asks penetrating questions toward the end:

I saw them tearing a building down,

A group of men in a busy town,

With a hefty blow and a lusty yell,

They swung with zest and a side wall fell,

Asks of the foreman,

"Are these men skilled? The kind you would hire if you had to build?"

He looked at me a laughed, "No, indeed! Unskilled labor is all I need.

Why they can wreck in a day or two,

what is has taken builders years to do."

I asked myself as I went my way,

which of these roles have I tried to play?

Am I a builder with rule and square,

Measuring and constructing with skill and care?

Or am I the wrecker who walks the town,

Content with the business of tearing down?

This can be quite revealing when you discover some of the hurdles, His Word has been recorded for us to encourage us to stand strong when
it may seem like all is falling down. Certainly this is an example of
this in the book of Job.

Job 19:1-3,

1. Then Job replied

2. "How long will you torment me and crush me with words?

3. Ten times now you have reproached me; shamelessly you attack me.

Job 19:22-29,

22. Why do you pursue me as God does? Will you never get enough of my flesh?

23. O that my words were recorded, that they were written on a scroll,

24. that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead, or engravewd on a rock forever!

25. I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.

26. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God;

27. I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

28. "If you say, 'How we will hound him, since the root of the trouble lies in him,

29. you should fear the sword yourselves; for wrath will bring punishment by the sword,

My prayer for all those remaining faithful in His service, is to "Continue in your calling as God will bring understanding to the faithful even if you get distracted a little by the nay-sayer's that seem to pop up from time to time"

Amen!

I had to read this again.
It struck me that the fear of man, and love cannot coexist together. If I fear him, the nay-sayer, then I won't love him; and, if I love him, then I won't fear him. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I need to patiently reason and persuade all men and hope that they will repent. And, I shouldn't think that just because I don't fear the opposition that I will automatically love him. If I'm not carefull, I might find that I hate him too, and am becoming a person who tares down. Love waites patiently at the door and knocks.

Well, these are the things you made me think about today.

If you want to read a good story of a builder read Nehemiah. He saw a need, he prayed, he did, he prayed, he did, he gathered others, they prayed, they did. They stood guard and didn't stop building. Despite opposition they did not stop. Nehemiah was not fooled. He kept His focus on the task and on God. He's a good example.

Yes! Amen bro!

And I was reminded today that even our own hearts can become contrary to us. Mine was such a liar today, and tried to convince me that God wouldn't help me. But He did help me!

"God is faithfull - For He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the Lord's coming"
