The Way That Is Right

When situations arise without warning that are divisive:

Do we believe as the Scripture says that our battle is not against flesh and blood? Do we believe the battle is not against each other but a common Enemy?

Let's ask q
uestions, view the whole picture, pray and meditate on God's Word and think through the events leading up to main event; sort through the emotions, separate and look at the facts. Examine if the event was carried out scripturally. Above all ask the Lord what His purpose is in the situation is and why He has allowed it. The Enemy loves to stir things up in the Body of Christ and then stand back, laugh and watch the carnage as we start turning on one another.

Direct hurt, anger and other emotions in the right direction. Don't wound one another with words. Forgive, talk to one another face to face and remember who you are to one another.
Remember who our Enemy really is.

This is so relative in our multi-cultured America. Speaking of a multi-cultured society what was I thinking? The Apostle Paul addressed the issues of the "body" in Christ and I have come to the conclusion that we, centuries later, are still bickering over the same issues of the days of which he wrote various letters to the churches back even then.

Take a look at what the disciples were worried about as when Jesus addressed the multitudes with one of those almost forgotten parables in Matt 15:10. Are we following Christ really or are we listening and hearing only the part that fits into our personal beliefs.

This is an age old scenario that plagues men and women to trust in there mentors, teachers, pastors, and others as if without there inspiration we are helpless to carry the torch that leads to truth in it's completeness. Sure there will always be the fine line that defines me different than you, and you different from them, and them different from us, and us different from me, on & on & on again.

In Matt 15:19 Jesus raps it up and puts some emphasis on this parable explained and some years later Paul comes on the scene with the same conversation in the letter to the church of Phillipians. There is one particular verse that stands out to me and I carry this verse around with me all the time as a reminder when I fall and that is Phil 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things [are] noble, whatever things [are] just, whatever things [are] pure, whatever things [are] lovely, whatever things [are] of good report, if [there is] any virtue and if [there is] anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

I'm to busy running the race, as Paul would say, to focus on the enemy and his tactics. Not to be ignorant he still likes to divide, but our Great God has bigger and a best plan for those that keep their eyes on Him!
