The Way That Is Right

Hello there.
This is my first blog so be gentle.
I wanted to give an update on the last few weeks in youth. I was given the privlege to teach the youth. I took on the subject of sex and dating. Before we tackled the subject of dating we had to establish the criteria for sex. It went down hill from there. Just kidding. We saw from scripture God designed sex to be between a man and woman in the contest of marriage. And that sex outside of marriage is sin (1 Cor 5 and 6). I asked them the question, Who owns you? We see from 1 Cor 6:19 that we are not our own. Our bodies belong to God and not to be given over to anyone but the one God has for us to marry. Dating now has new meaning with relation to this. The world "dates" to find a compatible partner. God knows the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). We also should be seeking first His kingdom (Matt 6:33). If we truly beleive that He has our best interest at heart then we can do no more than to trust Him for this also. I wanted them to remember this statement.. Make it a goal of becoming the right person rather than finding the right person. Prepare your heart and mind for serving God first and foremost and He will take care of the rest including bringing you the one who has prepared themself for you.
Last week two young adults gave their lives over to Christ.
I pray that this will spark a flame that burns strong.
God Bless you all.

Praise the Lord! This message is being lost and forgotten so easily in this day and age.

My wife Cathy and I met while I was stationed in Okinawa. She was there as a missionary and was not allowed to date. She was serving in childrens ministry and we became friends by serving the Lord together. Then we served at the Okinawan Christian School together with the junior high group. After three months she had to return home to California. After lots of prayer and seeking counsel from several men in our fellowship including two of our pastors, then I flew to California where I proposed to Cathy before we had ever been on a date. I thank the Lord continously for giving me the perfect mate for me. We have been married for almost six years now and have two boys.

-God is Awesome.

- Thanks for sharing Robert
